Reaksi asetilasi adalah reaksi pemasukkan gugus asetil kedalam substrat yang sesuai.Aspirin memiliki banyak manfaat seperti dalam bidang kesehatan yaitu sebagai obat-
obatan dan kebesihan kulit. Oleh karena itu pembuat aspirin sangat penting. Tujuan
dalam praktikum ini adalah membuat aspirin dalam skala labor, memahami dan
mempelajari proses reaksi yang terjadi, dan menghitung presentase aspirin yang
dihasilkan. Bahan yang kita gunakan dalam percobaan ini yaitu 5 gram asam salisilat
sebagai bahan utama, ! ml asam asetat glasial, dan katalis asam kuat "#!$O%&
sebanyak ' tetes, dilakukan pemanasan dengan suhu 5(-'( ) *, didinginkan dengan batu
es selama ! jam. +ristal yang dihasilkan di saring menggunakan pompa akum. ada
proses uji kemurnian aspirin, aspirin yang telah direkristalisasi tambahkan ml alcohol
dan tetes ferri klorida didalam tabung reaksi begitu juga pada asam salisilat. ada
percobaan ini didapatkan berat aspirin yang telah di rekristalisasi adalah 5 gr dengan
rendemen //0. 1adi aspirin dapat disintesis dari reaksi acetylasi.

ABSTRACT
Acetylation reaction is the reaction to put an acetyl group into the appropriate substrate.
Aspirin has many benefits such as health sector, namely drugs and skin hygene. 3t is ery
important to make an aspirin. The goal in this e4periment is to make an aspirin in
laboratory scale, to understand and learn the process of the reaction, and calculate the
percentage of aspirin produced. The materials e use in this e4periment is 5 gr of
salicylic acid as the main ingredient, ! ml of glacial acetic acid, and a strong acidcatalyst "#$O& as ' drops, carried heating ith temperature 5(-'()*, cooled ith ice
cubes for ! hours . The resulting crystals filtered using a acuum pump. 3n the process of
testing the purity of aspirin, aspirin has recrystalli6ed add ml of alcohol and drops of
ferric chloride in a test tube as ell as the salicylic acid. 3n these e4periments hae found
that aspirin eight in recrystalli6ation is 5 gr to yield //0. $o aspirin can be synthesi6ed
from the reaction of acetylation.
