ABSTRAK

Seminar merupakan sebuah pertemuan akademisi yang diselenggarakan

oleh sebuah instansi atau organisasi guna membahas topik-topik permasalahan

tertentu dan membutuhkan interaksi antar peserta. Beberapa instansi di Indonesia

masih menggunakan proses manual dalam pengelolaan seminar yang mereka

selenggarakan, sehingga pembangunan sistem informasi manajemen multi seminar

sangat membantu bagi suatu instansi atau organisasi yang ingin menyelenggarakan

kegiatan tersebut. Selain itu, informasi tentang seminar juga akan tersentralisasi di

sistem ini sehingga dapat ditemukan dengan mudah serta dapat membantu

pekerjaan administrasi menjadi lebih efektif dan efisien baik dari sisi pemakalah

(author), panitia seminar (administrator) maupun reviewer. Dimulai dari author

mengisi form submit makalah ke seminar yang dipilih, kemudian administrator

menyerahkan makalah ke reviewer, reviewer melakukan proses review dan

menyerahkan hasil review ke administrator, hingga administrator menentukan

status makalah. Jika status makalah adalah revisi maka author diminta untuk

merevisi makalahnya dan mengunggahnya kembali. Dan jika status makalah

diterima maka author diminta untuk segera melakukan pembayaran dan

mengunggah berkas copyright serta bahan presentasi yang dibutuhkan. Dari hasil

pengujian atau testing yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa setiap fitur yang

terdapat pada sistem dapat berjalan baik dan sesuai dengan proses bisnis yang

diinginkan.

ABSTRACT

Conference is an academics meeting organized by an institution or an

organization to discuss topics of certain problems that requires interactions among

participants. Several institutions in Indonesia are still using manual processes in

managing their conference. Building a multi conference information management

system is very helpful for those who want to organize these activities. In addition,

information about conferences will also be centralized so its can be found easily in

this system, then it can assist in the administration to become more effective and

efficient in terms of both authors, conference administrator or reviewer. Starting

from the author to fill out the form of paper submission to the conference is chosen,

then the administrator to submit the paper to reviewers, a reviewer to review and

submit it to the administrator, while administrator determine status of the paper. If

status of the paper is revised, the author requested to revise his paper and submit

it again. And if status of the paper is accepted, the author is requested to make a

payment and upload copyright file and presentation materials needed. From the

results of tests performed indicate that all of the features work properly and in

accordance with the desired business processes.

Dengan memanjatkan puji dan syukur kehadirat Allah SWT atas segala

limpahan rahmat dan hidayah-Nya sehingga penulis dapat menyelesaikan tugas

akhir yang berjudul:

SISTEM INFORMASI MANAJEMEN SEMINAR

Di dalam tulisan ini disajikan pokok-pokok pembahasan yang meliputi

seminar publikasi, sistem informasi manajemen, framework codeigniter dan bahan-

bahan lainnya untuk pembangunan sistem informasi manajemen multi seminar agar

dapat memberikan kemudahan bagi instansi-instansi atau organisasi dalam

pengelolaan seminar yang mereka adakan.

Penulis menyadari masih terlalu banyak kekurangan dan keterbatasan dalam

penulisan tugas akhir ini. Untuk itu, penulis sangat mengapresiasi segala bentuk

dorongan, kritik serta saran yang membangun untuk pengembangan sistem

informasi manajemen seminar kedepannya.
