  • 1. INTRODUCTION

This Site Acceptance Test (SAT) details the preliminary test which must be successfully executed before the Water Treatment Units is put into the whole system operation.

    2. PURPOSE

The Site Acceptance Test (SAT) is a functional test of the Water Treatment Units which consist of sand filter, carbon filter, chemical feeder and control panel as main components and the whole are working correctly.

    3. SCOPE

This protocol is applied to Water Treatment Units for Sekampung Udik and Sutami Offtake Station in Labuhan Maringgai Tanjung Karang Pipeline. Tanjung Karang, Lampung - Indonesia

    4. PROCEDURE

4.1 Description of The Installation Water Treatment Units is composed by sand filter, carbon filter, chemical feeder and control panel. The whole main components are installed in a skid with total dimension as stated in the general arrangement drawings. Make sure the filtering media for both sand filter and carbon filter has been filled up and soak in raw water for a night or at least 8 hours prior to run the test required.

4.2 Description of Sand Filter and Carbon Filter Sand Filter and Carbon Filter are vertical pressure filter. Each filter has 5 [five] operating valves which is used to manually for service, backwash and rinse.

Backwash is intended to clean the filtering media by using raw water. It can be implemented when there is an increment of 0.25-0.50 bar of the inlet pressure from the normal operation. It is then followed by rinse.

4.3 Description of Chemical Feeder Chemical feeder is used to inject chemical solution into the water which flows in the Water Treatment Unit interconnecting pipe. The chemical feeder operation is controlled by flow switch. When there is water flow detected by flow switch, the chemical feeder will start automatically. When there is no water flow, it will stop automatically.

4.4 Test Follow the below steps to take the Water Treatment Unit into operation. Stop the chemical feeder operation by turning the switch into off position (O) Set the sand filter in backwash position Run the feed pump to transfer raw water into sand filter Check the wash water appearance in the sand filter Stop the feed pump when the wash water is already clear and record the time required Set the sand filter in rinse position Run the feed pump to transfer raw water into sand filter Check the wash water appearance in the sand filter

  • Stop the feed pump when the wash water is already clear and record the time required Set sand filter in service/filter position Set carbon filter in backwash position Run the feed pump to transfer raw water into sand filter and carbon filter Check the wash water appearance in the carbon filter Stop the feed pump when the wash water is already clear and record the time required Set the carbon filter in rinse position Run the feed pump Check the wash water appearance in the carbon filter Stop the feed pump when the wash water is already clear and record the time required Set carbon filter in service/filter position Make sure there is chemical solution in the chemical tank Turn on the Chemical Feeder by turning the switch into Auto position (A) Run the feed pump Record the pressure in inlet pressure gauge Check the chemical feeder operation and make sure it is able to take up chemical

solution from chemical tank into the line Check the clearance of the filtered water coming out from Carbon Filter After the unit is take into 1-2 hours operation, prepare for water sampling Take filtered water coming out from Carbon Filter in 1 L bottle as product water sample Take raw water entering the Water Treatment Unit in 1 L bottle as raw water sample Stop the feed pump

    5. DOCUMENTATION

Documentation required is listed in the Appendix 7. All items are to be found and checked.

    6. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

6.1 Field Acceptance Sand filter and Carbon Filter can be operated for filter/service, backwash and rinse Chemical feeder is able to perform normal operation Flow switch is able to perform normal operation The product water flow rate is not less than 25 gpm or 5.7 m/hour

6.2 Water Sampling The water samples taken will be sent to Sucofindo as official laboratory company for several test. It will take 3-4 weeks from the date of water samples received. The certified test results will be presented to PT Rekayasa Industri for further evaluation. This certificate is used for quality acceptance criteria from the Water Treatment Unit
