Standar kompetensi Tenaga Teknik Kefarmasian di susun mengacu pada naskah standar kompetensi nasional bidang farmasi yang melalui forum konsensus disetujui dan disahkan oleh para professional. Dalam menjalankan tugas pokok dan fungsi Tenaga Teknik Kefarmasian harus mempunyai kompetensi sebagai berikut Menguasai ilmu pengetahuan, yang berkaitan dengan tugas pokok dan fungsinya di sarana kefarmasian dan kesehatan, Mampu merencanakan proses yang berkaitan dengan tugas pokok dan fungsinya disarana kefarmasian sesuai jenjangnya, Memiliki ketrampilan untuk proses teknis operasional pelayanan kefarmasian.
Dapat di ambil kesimpulan bahwa 68% Tenaga Teknik Kefarmasian bekerja didampingi apoteker dan menunjukkan tingkat kompetensi yang sangat tinggi dalam hal pengetahuan.Sedangkan yang tidak didampingi apoteker sebagian besar Tenaga Teknik Kefarmasian shift sore dan maiam.Dari hasil penelitian keseiuruhan tentang pengetahuan ternyata mempunyai kiasifikasi sangat tinggi dibandingkan ketrampilan dengan kiasifikasi cukup tinggi dan untuk sikap dengan kiasifikasi sedang.
