Keer Zhang Research PlanPersonal feeling
First of all, I think one must be sincere to be an artist.
He/she should create with passion and true feelings from
the heart. They need to integrate themselves with their
own language patterns and time landscapes to show new
emotional awareness. And they should respect their own
feelings, intuitions and associations.
Scope and methods of study and bibliography
I want to study the global ecological crisis. I will start
from the perspective of eastern and western culture, to
analyze the measures taken by the countries under the
two kinds of cultures respectively for the global ecological
crisis. I hope I can understand and explore these in the
process of continuous experiment and creation in the
future. Because in China, there are obvious limitations in
knowledge and practice of nature as well as overall
understanding and behavior toward it, we need to base on
our own traditional culture, and combine it with the
current grim situation, to carry out analysis from a global
perspective. Reference books are: Unprecedented: Can
Civilization Survive the CO2 Crisis and Invitation to
Sociology: A Humanistic Perspective, etc. For the next
creative method, I want to use some experimental
materials, such as foam, acrylic plate, light bulb and so on.
In the process of creating experiments, I will find more and
more special materials, such as special materials from the
nature, experience the fun of experiment and learn about
my personality. Personality is the basis of richness and
diversity in social organizations, and I will protect the
development of personality in the process of creating
works.
Schedule
Stage 1: October-December: find more learning materials
about the topic to learn and summarize.
Stage 2 December-January: do field surveys to know
people’s thoughts about the topic.
Stage 3: January-July: do experimental creation.
Stage 4: July: write paper on the research topic.
The reason why I choose the major of Fine Arts
In my opinion, the primary premise of becoming an
artist who studies fine arts is to care about the social
status quo, and to reflect our life. Art is higher than life,
but it comes from life. Nowadays, the desire of social
material seems to be full of everyone’s mind. And of
course, it is also full of artists’. As individuals, people have
selfish desires, ambitions and cowardliness, which are also
the path to freedom and truth. And artists are explorers of
contemporary art.
Supplementary learning stages:Stage 1: critical theory learning
Stage 2: in-depth theoretical study combined with practice
Stage 3: realization of research and practice - graduation

through critical thinking and research.
Stage5. Actively explore the relationship between
experimental creation and the final work.
