Appreciation

We are here using this wonderful opportunity to thank every

body that help us a lot to complete this task. First of all, we want to

thank our Basic Mathematic lecturer Puan.Mazni bt Sulaiman. She

guides us a lot to complete this task. I’m sure that we won’t be able to

give a final touch to our project without her aid.

She shows her willingness and high commitment

whenever we go and meet her to ask about this Project. She gave us

many useful tips to improve our project. Besides that we also want to

thank our friends whom also give helping hand to us to finish this

project. Hope this project end successfully without having any

problems.

May god grace always with you all!

Thank you!

INTRODUCTION

Statistics is concerned with the collection of data, its

organization, presentation, and analysis as well as drawing valid

conclusions and making reasonable decisions on the basis of such

analysis. Data is the information, measurements or observations we

have collected on a certain subject.

Normally, data is in the form of numbers. In order to make the

information manageable, it is divided into groups. The information is

recorded in the table called a frequency table. The number of times

a value occurs recorded as frequency. The recording of the value is

called as tally.

Question :

A survey was conducted among 25 students in our institute. The

survey was about how many liters of water a trainee teacher

consumes per day. The survey also includes the main reason why

the trainee teacher consumes that much of water per day. The result

is shown in the table below:

Liters of water per day ( l ) Tally0.5 - 1.0 -1.0 - 1.5 111.5 - 2.0 1112.0 - 2.5 1112.5 - 3.0 1111 13.0 - 3.5 1113.5 - 4.0 11114.0 - 4.5 114.5 - 5.0 1

Total trainees : 25 people

Solution:

Page 6: basic math

a) From the result that we get from the survey we can do a frequency

table as

Below:

Liters of water per

day (l)

Frequency (f) Cumulative frequency

0.5 - 1.0 0 01.0 - 1.5 2 21.5 - 2.0 3 52.0 - 2.5 3 82.5 - 3.0 6 143.0 - 3.5 3 173.5 - 4.0 5 224.0 - 4.5 2 244.5 - 5.0 1 25

b) From the frequency table, we can draw a graphical chart to

represent the data.
