    Failure to ollow each o the ollowing instructions canresult in your child striking the vehicles interior duringa sudden stop or crash, potentially resulting in seriousinjury or death. These instructions and the instructions inyour vehicle owners manual must be ollowed careully.I there is a confict between the two, the vehicle owners manual regarding booster seat installation must be

    ollowed. NEVER leave child unattended.

    In addition to the height and weight requirements,your child must be at least three years old to use thisbooster seat.

    Seat Belt Warnings DO NOTuse this booster seat in a vehicle with door-

    mounted seat belts. DO NOT use this booster seat in a vehicle with seat

    belts that automatically move along the vehicle ramewhen the door is opened. These seat belts will nothold a booster seat properly.

    When using this booster seat,NEVER use a lap belt only. YouMUST use vehicle seat belts thathave a lap/shoulder combination.

    DO NOTuse this booster seat i thechilds ears are above the back othe booster seat.

    Failure to adjust the seat belts snugly around yourchild may result in your child striking the vehiclesinterior during a sudden stop or crash. Serious injuryor death may occur.

    DO NOT use this booster seat i it is damaged or hasbroken or missing parts.

    Additional Warnings DO NOT use this booster seat i it has been involved in

    an accident. It must be replaced. This booster seat must be securely belted to the

    vehicle at all times. An unsecured booster seat mayinjure someone i a crash occurs.

    DO NOT attach additional padding, toys, or otherdevices not made by Eveno to the booster seat. Itemsnot tested with the booster seat could injure the child.

    In hot, sunny weather cover the seat with a lightcolored blanket when you leave the vehicle. Always

    check the seat or hot suraces beore putting a childinto the seat.

    DO NOT mix old and new batteries. DO NOT mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or

    rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Remove batteries beore storing unit or a prolonged

    period o time. DO NOT allow unit to get wet.

    WARNING WARNING

    Location Warnings According to statistics, children are saer when proper-

    ly restrained in a rear seating position than in the rontseating position. Children under 13 should ride in theback seat o the vehicle.

    Use this booster seat only on orward acing vehicleseats. DO NOT use this booster seat with vehicle seatswhich ace the rear or side o the vehicle.

    Use this booster seat only on vehicle seats with backsthat lock into place.

    Some booster seats do not ft in all vehicles. I thebooster seat cannot be properly installed, DO NOTuse the booster seat. Consult your vehicle ownersmanual, try a dierent seating location, or call Evenoat 1-800-233-5921 or urther assistance.

    Air Bag Warning DO NOT use this restraint in the ront seat o a vehicle

    equipped with an active air bag. Air bags may causeserious injury or death to children under 13 years

    o age. I your vehicle has an air bag, reer to yourvehicle owners manual or child restraint installation.

    I the rear seat o your vehicle is equipped with side air bags:Vehicles built prior to the 2002 model year:DO NOT use this restraint in a vehicle seating positionequipped with a side air bag unless authorized by thevehicle manuacturer.Model year 2002 and newer vehicles: Reerto your vehicle owners manual beore placing thisrestraint in a seating position equipped with a side airbag. DO NOT place any objects between the restraintand the side air bag, as an expanding air bag may

    cause the items to strike your child.Booster Seat Position Warnings

    DO NOT use this booster seat rear-acing. When using this booster seat, the headrest on the ve-

    hicle seat that the child aces should be put in its low-est position. The vehicle seat back that the child acesmust be ully padded and ree o any hard objects.

    This booster seat is NOT certifed or aircrat use.A belt-positioning booster seat requires the use o alap/ shoulder belt system, which is not available onaircrat.

    Plastic parts may be wiped clean with mild soap andwater and dried with a sot cloth. Do not use abrasive

    cleaners or solvents.

    Take care not to damage any labels.

    The seat pad (except or leather seat padsnot availableon all models) can be machine washed separately in coldwater, delicate cycle, tumble dry 10 15 minutes on lowheat.

    Never use booster seat without the seat pad.

    To help protect the vehicle upholstery, place a towelbeneath and behind the booster seat.

    Everyone rides buckled up or the vehicle does notgo. Make no exceptions or adults or children. Isomeone unbuckles, stop the vehicle. Being frm andconsistent rom the start will mean ewer disciplineproblems as children get older. An unrestrained personcan be thrown into and injure other passengers.

    NEVERtry to tend to a crying childs needs whiledriving. Never take a child out o a booster seat or

    comorting while the vehicle is moving. DO NOT allow a child to have objects such as lolli-

    pops or ice cream on a stick. These objects can injurethe child i the vehicle swerves or hits a bump.

    Put sharp or heavy items in the trunk. Anything loosecan be deadly in a crash.

    Leather (not available on all models) can become veryhot in direct sunlight. Cover your booster seat with ablanket in warm weather.

    In cold weather a child may need an extra blanket orwarmth. Put the child in the booster seat and coverboth the child and the booster seat with a blanket.

    2.Assemble the backrest. Insert three postsDonthe headrestEinto the backrestF, as shown. Makecertain the headrest locks securely into the backrest.NOTE: This is a one-time assembly and may requireadditional orce to connect properly.

    1.Install the armrests. Press the tabsA on armrestassembliesB then slide them into the baseC untilthey lock into place.

    5. Install the backrest. Slide the backrest assemblyJinto the baseC. Make certain the backrest locks intoplace.

    6. Check your work. Inspect the Big Kid booster seatto make sure that the armrests are locked in place, theheadrest is securely attached to the backrest, the seatpad is hooked into place, and that the backrestassembly is securely locked into the base. Repeatany assembly steps as necessary.

    3. Install pull handle. Align tabsG on pull handleHwith the slotsI on the back o the headrest. Presspull handleH against the back o the headrest andslide upward until the tabsG lock into place.

    4. Attach the seat pad. Connect seat pad straps tothe hooks on backrest assembly.

    1.Place the booster seat on the vehicle seat.

    2.Set the child in the booster seat.Make sure the childs back and bottom are at againstthe back and bottom suraces o the booster seat.

    3.Adjust the back o the booster, i necessary.Adjust the backrest so the shoulder belt guides arelevel with the top o the childs shoulders. This willcause the shoulder belt to properly lay midwaybetween the childs shoulder and neck (see Adjusting

    the Backrest, page 15).

    4.Adjust the armrest, i necessary.Adjust the armrests to the most comortable level orthe child (see Adjusting the Armrests, page 15).

    5.Secure the child and booster seat to the vehicle seat.Pivot the armrests up out o the way. Stretch the lap/shoulder belt across the child and asten the buckle.Make certain the shoulder belt is threaded throughthe shoulder belt guide. Pivot the armrests back down.

    6.Check your work.Make sure the lap belt is stretched low and snug

    across the childs hips, beneath the armrests, andastened into the buckle. The shoulder belt must crossthe child midway between his/her shoulder and neck.

    IMPORTANTAlways secure the booster seat with the vehicle seatbelts when not occupied. An unsecured boosterseat can y into and injure other occupants in theevent o a crash.

    Using the Big Kid Boosterwith the Backrest

    The shoulder beltMUST NOTcross the childs neckorall o the childs shoulder. I you can not adjust theshoulder belt to properly lay midway between the childsshoulder and neck, try another seating location or donot use the booster seat.

    Shoulder Belt:Must cross midwaybetween childsshoulder and neck.

    1.Remove the backrest rom the Big Kid Booster.(See Removing the Backrest, page 14.)

    2.Place the booster seat on the vehicle seat.

    3.Set the child in the booster seat.Make sure the childs back is at against the vehicleseat,and the childs bottom is at against the boosterseat.

    4.Adjust the armrest, i necessary.Adjust the armrests to the most comortable level or

    the child (see Adjusting the Armrests, page 15).5.Secure the child and booster seat to the vehicle seat.

    Using the Big Kid Boosterwithout the Backrest

    Proper Disposal of this Child Restraint

    At the end o this child restraints useul lie, Evenoencourages you to dispose o it properly. Most o thecomponents in this child restraint are recyclable.

    1. Remove all abric and padding.

    2. Remove all screws and disassemble the restraint.

    3. Recycle all plastic/oam parts and discard the rest.

    I your local recycling center wont accept the padding,you may dispose o it in the landfll.

    NOTE: Eveno uses recycled materials in the manuac-turing process whenever possible but never or compo-nents that are critical or saety.
