The traffic distribution of an input process can be divided intotwo main categories as far as the variance-to-mean ratio (vmr)
is concerned: non random, comprising smooth and rough
traffic in which the vmr is not equal to unity, and random
traffic in which the vmr is equal to unity.
This lecture discusses the “binomial” distribution function
characterizing non random traffic. The binomial with positive
index, known as the “Bernoulli” distribution, characterizes
smooth traffic, while the binomial with negative index, knowas the “Pascal” distribution, characterizes rough traffic

Prinsip Dasar Teori Probabilitas :

Prinsip 2 :
Setiap probabilitas merupakan pecahan (sesuai dengan contoh
Prinsip 1) dengan batas 0 (impossibility) & 1 (certainty).
pada prinsip 1, the event must either happen or fail. The sum of the
probabilities represents certainty, therefore :

Prinsip 3 :
Jika P(1), P(2), ….., P(n) represents the probabilities of n possible
events without having two or more of them occurring simultaneous
-ly then the probability of any of the first k events happening isequal to : P = P(1) + P(2) + … + P(k)
1 buah Dadu dilemparkan maka probabilitas muncul sisi angka 1
atau sisi angka 2 adalah :
P (1 or 2) = P (1) + P (2)
= 1/6 + 1/6
= 2/6
= 1/3

Prinsip 4 :
Probabilitas ‘n’ kejadian tak terikat (independent) merupakan
perkalian dari masing-masing probabilitas
2 buah Dadu ( A dan B) dilemparkan, maka probabilitas muncul sisi
angka 1 :
P (1) = P (1A) x P (1B)
= 1/6 x 1/6
= 1/36

Prinsip 5 :
Terdapat n kasus tak terikat, dimana tiap kasus menyebabkan
suatu event. If the respective probabilities of these events are
P(1), P(2),…, P(n), then the probability of any of these events
Happening, neglecting by which of the causes the event
happens, is

Penerapan Probabilitas pada Trafik Telepon
Probabilitas 1 saluran diduduki (busy)
maka :
Probabilitas ditemukannya line dalam keadaan busy = h , danProbabilitas ditemukannya line dalam keadaan idle = 1- h
Jika P(1) meruapakan probabilitas ditemukannya line 1
-
8/18/2019 Lecture 4 Trafik.pdf
9/20
P(1) = h = Interval pendudukan saluran / jam pengamatan
= rata-rata waktu percakapan selama saluran sibuk
= pecahan (< 1)
suatu saluran diduduki 15 menit dalam jam sibuk (60 menit), maka
probabilitas salurannya : 15/60 = 1/4
-

10/20
Probabilitas 2 saluran diduduki (saluran 1 & 2) simultan
With the same manners, if the average time during which
either of lines numbers 1 or 2 is busy is equal to h ,
Then the probability of both lines being busy simultaneously,
following the fourth principle, is
(Prinsip 4) P(1,2) = h x h = h2 = rata-rata waktu kedua saluran sedang
sibuk bersamaan
Inversely, if P(1,2) is the probability of finding lines 1 and 2Occupied simultaneously, the P(1,2) represents equally the
Time during which both lines 1 and 2 are busy simultaneously

Probabilitas X saluran yang sibuk (diduduki) simultan
Assumes that there are s subscribers’ lines and that the conversation
time per subscriber measured during a large number of busy hours
is equal to h . These assumptions are the same for all subscribers.
Assume, the number of serving switches is unlimited. Therefore,
whenever a call arrives, it will find an idle switch to establishconnection . Also assume that the called party is idle when called.
What is the probability of finding x of the s subscriberssimultaneously engaged?

idle = 1- h .

Sehingga Probabilitas Total, menunjukkan Probabilitas x
Saluran diduduki :
x = jumlah saluran yang sibuk
s = jumlah saluran total (source)h = waktu percakapan (occupancy per source)
C indicating the number of combinations of s things taken x at a Time .
Persamaan diatas disebut sebagai formula Bernoulli. Atau disebut juga “Binomial Distribution”
Dikenal juga sebagai “source distribution function”

Pengertian :
1. Probabilitas ditemukannya sejumlah x saluran sibuk pada
saat jam sibuk
B’( x,s,h) = 0.01 , berarti pada jam sibuk terdapat x saluranyang sibuk dengan peluang 0.01
1 jam yaitu 36 detik

Sedangkan untuk “space distribution function”, describes the
probability of finding a certain number of connection simul-
taneously in progress, whereas the “time distribution function”describes the probability of exactly x call originations in a
given interval of time.
Kedua function diatas memiliki parameter yang berbeda. Padakedua function, “s” digantikan oleh “n” (number of calls per
hour).
Pada space function, “h” menjadi call holding time. Pada timefunction, “h” digantikan oleh “t” ( a certain time interval)
Space dan Time function digunakan untuk theoritical saja.

Mean dan Variance
Mean ; m = s.h
Variance; v = s.h ( 1 – h )
vmr; α = v / m = 1 - h
α < 1, sehingga distribusi ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan
kondisi trafik smooth

Ketika Trafik tinggi
jumlah source yg idle akan rendah, sehingga probabilitas new call
Variance
akan turun.
-
8/18/2019 Lecture 4 Trafik.pdf
18/20
Pada Trafik Rough, adalah kebalikannya. Yaitu fungsi linear dari
jumlah source yang busy. Probabilitas kedatangan call yang baru
akan naik seiring dengan kenaikan intensitas trafik. Variance akan
naik.
Diperoleh bahwa the binomial distribution (with positive index)
describes the input process when the variance is decreased relative
to the mean
Sebaliknya, untuk negative index, describes the input process whenthe variance is increased relative to the mean.

Untuk kondisi trafik rough, digunakan Negative Binomial
Distribution :
x = jumlah saluran yang sibuk
k = jumlah saluran total (source)
q = waktu percakapan (occupancy per source)
Mean dan Variance
Mean ; m = k.q / (1 - q)
Variance; v = k.q / ( 1 –
q )2
vmr; α = v / m = 1 / (1 – q) Harga α > 1
