RESIDENTIAL MASTER PLANThese new homeowners were in need of a master plan for their home remodel, with the intention of constructing in phases to help manage their budget. The first phase focused on the kitchen and living area. This mid-century home had walls separating the kitchen on all sides, giving it a maze-like feel. 3D modeling was used to help the clients visualize the space without the walls crowding them in.

16-page final document length.

ADU DESIGN + VISUALIZATION

The homeowners wanted to make the most of their 248-sq.ft. garage by converting it into an accessory dwelling on their property. As part of a collaborative effort, several designs were presented to the clients and construction documents were drawn up, ready for permitting. The garage door was repurposed into the bed frame, mirrored across the space from its former position.

Hand Eye Supply, 427 NW Broadway, Portland, OR 97209

The skylight was constructed over several days as a group effort. A small scale model

was created but we found ourselves redesigning as we built once the larger

structure started to take form (and take up more space). The original design

called for an additional tier but the feel of the full scale structure was

becoming excessive for the space. The solution was to remove it

while accommodating for the extra torque on the adjacent tiers.

The skylight was completed in time for the store’s grand reopening October 2014.
