Analysis of the Factors that Influence to the Juvenile Violence of Adolescent at Depok

Senior High School Yogyakarta 2013

Abstract

Background: Juvenile violence is one of the problems that occur in adolescent

development process. Juvenile violence is a behavior intended to hurt or attack others by

physically or mentally. There are many factors caused juvenile violence of adolescents. In

this study, the factors studied such as gender, peer groups, mass media, experiences of

violence and self-control.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to analysis factors that associated with juvenile

violence of adolescents at Depok Senior High School Yogyakarta 2013.

Methodology: The method of this study used analytical descriptive with cross sectional

approach. The population of this study is all the second grade students in Depok Senior

High School Yogyakarta totally 207 students as respondents. Sampling technique used in

this study is total sampling.

Result: The results of univariate showed that respondents of 136 respondents male and

female equal is balance, as many as 68 respondents (50%), and most respondents have

violence behavior as many as 88 respondents (64.7%).

The results of bivariate showed that there is no significant relation (p value > 0.05)

between variables gender (p = 0.153) with violence behavior of adolescents and there is

significant relation (p < 0.05) between variables violence experience (0.012), mass media

(0.002), peer groups (p = 0.002), self-control (p = 0.004) with violence behavior of

adolescents.

The result of multivariate showed that the most correlation variable with violence

behavior of adolescent is self-control (B=24.73).

Conclusion: The most of adolescent have violence behavior, increasing spiritual and

character building training is needed to prevent the violence behavior of adolescent.
