Resolution : Where the problems in the story is solved. Masalah selesai, --- secara baik "happy ending" ataupun buruk "bad ending".

Text 1.
THE LEGEND OF MALIN KUNDANG
A long time ago, in a small villlage near the beach in west Sumatra lived a woman and her son, Malin Kundang. Malin Kundang and his mother had to live hard because his father had passed away when he was a baby. Malin Kundang was a healthy, diligent, and strong biy. He usually went to sea to catch fish. After getting fish he would bring it to his mother, or sell the caught fish in the town.
One day, when Malin Kundang was sailing, he saw a merchant’s shep being raided by a band of pirates. With his bravery, Malin Kundang helped the merchant defeat the pirates. To thank him, the merchant allowed malin Kundang to sail with him. Malin Kundang agreed in the hope to get a better life. He left his mother alone.
Many years later, Malin Kundang became wealthy, he had huge ship and a lot of crews who worked loading trading goods. He was also married to a beatiful woman. When he was sailing on his trading journey, his ship landed on a coast near a small village. The local people recognized that it was Malin Kundang, a boy from the area. The news ran fast in the town “ Malin Kundang has become rich and now he is here”.
An old woman, who was Malin Kundang’s mother, ran to the beach to meet the new rich merchant. She wanted to hug him to release her sadness of being lonely after a long time. When his mother came near him, Malin Kundang who was with his beautiful wife and his ship crews denied that she was his mother, She had pleaded Malin kundang to look at her and admit that she was her mother. But he kept refusing to do it and yelling at her. At last Malin Kundang said to her.”Enough, old woman! After that he ordered his crews to set sail to lkeave the old woman who was then full of sadness and anger. Finally, feeling enraged, she cursed Malin Kundang that he would turn into a stone if he didn’tbapologize to her. Malin Kundang that he would turn into a stone if he didn’t apologize to her. Malin Kundang just laughed and set sail. Suddenly a hunderstone came in the quite sea, wrecking his huge ship. He was thrown out to a small island. It was really too late for him to avoid his curse, he had turned into a stone.

The Story of Putri Tangguk
There was a village in Jambi, Indonesia. The people were farmers. One of them was Puti Tangguk. She lived with her husband and her children.
Putri Tangguk and her husband have a very small rice field. Amazingly, the rice field was able to harvest a lot of rice. Their harvest was always abundant. They put their harvest in their big barn. They were very happy with their life.
Putri Tangguk always helped her husband in the rice field. One day, she said that she wanted to quit helping her husband. She wanted to take care of the children and mingle with the neighbors.
In the morning, Putri Tangguk wanted to cook some rice. However, she could not find any rice in the kitchen. She was surprised and she felt that she took some rice from the barn and put it in the kitchen. Then, she went to the barn. Surprisingly, there was no rice in barn. She immediately told her husband about the missing rice.
“Look! The rice is gone. Our rice is stolen!”, said Putri Tangguk.
Putri Tangguk and her husband immediately went to the rice field. And after they finished, they brought the rice. On the way home, rain fell down heavily. The rain made the road slippery. Putri Tangguk fell down several times.
She was really upset. Later, she asked her husband to put the rice on the road.
“What for?” asked the husband.
“The road is slippery. If we throw the rice on the road, we can step on it. Therefore, the road is not going to be slippery. Don’t worry, we have an amazing rice field right?” asked Putri Tangguk.
Although he did not completely agree with her idea, the husband still threw the rice in front of them. The idea worked. Every time they stepped on the rice, they did not fall down.
When they arrived home, their rice was only left a little. It was only enough for their dinner. However, they were not worried. Tomorrow morning, they planned to go to their rice field and took a lot of rice. They planned to fill their barn.
Surprisingly, when they arrived, their rice was full of grass. There was no rice at all. They were really confused.
At night, Putri Tangguk had a dream. An old man came to her and said,
“You were really ungrateful. You treated us badly.”
“I am one of the rice you threw away on the road. You stepped on us! The God of rice was really angry. He decided not to give you a lot of rice anymore. You can only get a little rice,” said the old man.

1) Kegiatan Pendahuluan (10’) Guru memberikan salam saat memasuki ruang kelas Berdo’a sebelum memulai pelajaran Guru menyiapkan kelas agar lebih kondusif Guru melakukan dialog sederhana dengan siswa

OBSERVING (45’) Guru memperlihatkan dan memberikan jumble pictures dan short paragraph
kepada setiap kelompok tentang text narrative yaitu malin kundang. Secara berkelompok siswa mengamati dan menyusun gambar sesuai cerita malin
kundang yang di berikan. Peserta didik menerima feedback dari guru. Peserta didik berlatih menjodohkan kosa kata yg berhubungan teks dengan
artinya. (page.63. vocabulary builder) Siswa mengamati fungsi sosial, pesan moral dan unsur kebahasaan yang
digunakan dalam teks narrative pada teks buku siswa (page 64n 65)
QUESTIONING (30’)
Dengan arahan guru, siswa mengajukan pertanyaan tentang funsi sosial, pesan moral dan unsur kebahasaan yang belum dipahaminya.
Lalu masih dalam kelompok peserta didik menjawab pertanyaan berkaitan tentang teks malin kundang (page. 65)
Peserta didik mendapatkan feedback hasil score reading comprehension.
3) Kegiatan Penutup (5’). Guru memberikan feedback terhadap proses dan hasil pembelajaran

Melakukan kegiatan tindak lanjut dalam bentuk pemberian tugas kelompok untuk menjawab menulis kembali teks narrative dalam susunan generic structure yang tepat. Kemudian meletakannya dalam bentuk table(page.66 dan 67 )

Peserta didik membahas jawaban hasil kerja kelompok secara bersama
Peserta didik secara individu mengamati dan menemukan kata keterangan waktu di dalam teks (Buku siswa Pg 69) dan melengkapi kata kerja ke dua dalam kalimat simple past tense (Pg 69)
Setelah memahami penggunaan adverb of time dalam kalimat simple past tense, siswa menuliskan kalimatnya sendiri dengan menggunakan adverb of time in past tense. (pg.70)
ASSOCIATING (20’)
Peserta didik membedakan teks narrative yang sudah dibahas sesuai dengan fungsi sosialnya
Siswa memperoleh balikan (feedback) dari guru dan teman tentang hasil analisis mereka tentang fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan yang digunakan dalam legenda yang mereka baca.

Kegiatan Penutup
Guru dan siswa menyimpulkan materi yang telah dibahas. Guru menyampaikan garis besar cakupan materi dan penjelasan tentang kegiatan
yang akan dilakukan siswa Guru mengakhiri kegiatan belajar dengan memberikan pesan untuk tetap belajar. Guru menyampaikan materi untuk minggu depan.
