    MOTIVATION

    many energy experts in Indonesia considers wind energy development is

    not feasible. but this is a challenge to realize wind energy. Many installa-

    on of windmills in Indonesia did not make the wind turbines based on

    the properes. to understand the nature of wind and designing in ac-

    cordance with nature windmills is the high eciency and high power

    coecient can be obtained. This study will design VAWT array with mul-

    level opmizaon.

    OBJECTIVE

    1. increase the single turbine power coecient based on a combina-

    on of chord length, angle of aack, the number of blades, and thewind speed varies.

    2. increase the power output of the turbine array, by analyzing many

    turbine conguraons, and the eect of the turbine in front of the

    turbine which is behind. so that the maximum annual energy pro-

    ducon (AEP) can be obtained.

    SIMULATION

    CFD simulaon is used to predict the value of the funcon to be o pmized,

    ie Sliding Rao (Cl / Cd), TSR, Cp, and Annual Energy Producon (AEP)

    MULTI LEVEL OPTIMIZATION

    Opmizaon will use Design of experiment, Arcial Neural Network, and

    global opmizaon method .

    BLADE SHAPE OPTIMIZATION

    Opmizaon Blade parameter to increase li coecient and decrease drag

    coecient and wake eect to other blade, based on NACA blade.

    TURBINE PART OPTIMZATION

    Opmizaon of single turbine to increase Sliding Rao and Coecient li.

    ARRAY OPTIMIZATION

    Conguraon array opmizaon and analysis to get opmum

    power generate to area, and also AEP.

    PROTOTYPING

    To Validate simulaon and opmi-

    zaon, the prototype will built in

    scale and full size.

    WIND TUNNEL TEST

    In wind tunnel, single Scale model and array scale model will

    test to achieve TSR value and calculang for Cp.

    FIELD TEST

    The eld test VAWT array mounted

    side by side, with the HAWT array

    and the performance will be com-

    pared.

    IMPACT

    One possibility is to integrate a prototype array on Pulau pan-

    jang district in Banten Province. A public display of renewable

    energy acts as a permanent outreach tool, encouraging engi-

    neering, art, and future sustainability projects in green ener-

    gy . The result of this study would be a high-density energy

    harvesng technology, involving modular, exchangeable, in-

    expensive, lightweight devices, an increase of renewable en-

    ergy in Indonesia environment.
