    ABSTRACK

Chloride ions are the dominant anions in marine waters. Chloride ions

included in the group halide. Determination of chloride ion in water using

methods argentometry (precipitation titration). There are two methods in use

argentometry method, the method of Volhard and Mohr method. In this

experiment using the Mohr method. Mohr titration method is used to determine

the leels of Cl! "r! I! halides with #g$%& which uses chromic acid

indicator. This indicator seres as a mar'er if it reached a point euialent.#fter

reaching a point euialent chloride leels otained at *+.& g - in ppm at *+

&/ mg - . Mohr method is uite accurate and can e used at low chloride

    concentrations.

Tools and materials used are spatulas, owls, scales, pipette, urette 0/ ml,

statie and clamps, erlemeyer +0/ ml, funnel, measuring cup 0/ ml, +0/ ml glass

     ea'er. #nd materials used are sea water, $aCl, 1$%&.

The wor'ing principle is diided into two parts, namely2 3tandards 1$%&

Ta'e +/ ml of $aCl, ta'e 4+Cr%5 dan solution put into +0/ ml 6rlenmeyer,titration with a standard solution 1$%& to first formed warana red ric',

experiments were repeated & times, Calculate the molarity (M) in $aCl, and

Determination of Chloride Ions In 3eawater ta'ing sea water up to +/ ml with the

6rlenmeyer flas', add & drops 4Cr+%5, then in the titration with 1$%& until

precipitation, then experiment repeated & times, Calculating molarity (M) of

    chloride ions in seawater.

    7esults from 1$%& 3tandards, 3tandards 1$%& /.* $ $aCl is 0,0ml.
