Dear ProSPER.Net Members and Partners,
It is our pleasure to announce that the 2019 ProSPER.Net Leadership Programme will be hosted by theUniversity of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Philippines, from 24 to 30 November 2019, underthe theme of "Engineering Approaches to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management TowardsSustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific Region". We would like to invite your institution tonominate participants for this programme.
The ProSPER.Net Leadership Programme provides opportunities for participants to develop inter¬disciplinary skills to lead sustainable development initiatives appropriate to local, regional or globalcontexts. Bringing together a diverse group of individuals - from academia, the public sector, thebusiness community, and civil society from around the Asia-Pacific region, both from the socialsciences and natural sciences, participants will learn about the challenges and opportunities in relationto disaster risk reduction (DRR) and management. This year's programme aims to expose futuresustainability leaders to engineering tools and principles that can aid in formulating sustainablesolutions taking into consideration the vulnerability of the Asia-Pacific Region to both man-made andnatural disasters. Participants will have an opportunity to gain leadership skills and basic knowledge inaddressing sustainability goals in light of climate change and disaster preparedness.
Resources have been committed to provide fellowships for selected participants, who will benefit fromexposure to a wide range of expertise from University of the Philippines Diliman and the widerProSPER.Net community. However, we would also like to encourage all members and partners toconsider supporting the participation of applicants from your institution.
