Keesokannya, semasa Nila tekun menangkap ikan di laut, Nila terdengar satu suaramemanggilnya. Rupa-rupanya, itu suara penyu yang diselamatkannya semalam. Menurutpenyu itu, Ratu Penyu mahu berjumpa dengan Nila. Penyu itu pun membawa Nila ke dasarlaut.

"Terima kasih, manusia budiman. Sebagai balasan, beta menjemput kamu tinggal disini. Kamu akan dilayan seperti raja," kata Ratu Penyu kepada Nila. Nila bersetuju untuktinggaldi situ.

Setelah puluhan tahun Nila tinggal di laut, Nila mahu pulang ke kampunghalamannya. "Baiklah, Nila. Beta hadiahkan kotak ini. Tetapi, jangan sekali-kali kamumembukanya, kelak kamu akan mendapat susah,,, pesan Ratu penyu.

Setibanya Nila di kampung, tiada seorang pun yang mengenalinya. Nila berasa susahhati. Tibatiba dia teringat akan kotak yang diberikan oleh Ratu Penyu. "Mungkin kotak inidapat membantuku. Tetapi, bagaimanakah dengan amanat Ratu Penyu?" fikir Nila sendirian.Nila tetap mahu membuka kotak itu. Sebaik sahaja kotak itu terbuka, keluarlahkepulan asap. Selepas itu, muka Nila berubah menjadi berkedut-kedut dan rambutnya pulamenjadi putih. Barulah dia sedar bahawa kotak itu berkuasa menjadikannya sentiasa muda.Nila menyesal kerana melanggar amanat Ratu penyu.
