Read the following text for questions number 39-42!

Aloe Vera is the best known memberof the Aloe family, which includes about 250 species. These lush plants are called "succulents" because their thick, juicy flesh holds so much sap. Most aloe species came from Africa. Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) was probably brought from Egypt to India by Arabs. It now grows wild in India's coastal lands: for example, in Gujarat and Mumbai.

Aloe Vera can thrive outdoors in semi-tropical regions. In the United States, USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) zones 10 and 11 are suitable. These include Hawaii and parts of Florida and California, where the average annual minimum temperature is at least 30F (about -1C). This plant is a perennial. It can grow to height of 1.5 metres (almost 5 feet) under ideal conditions, although most remain much smaller.

The root is fibrous and strong, but spreads outward rather than deep into the soil. The sturdy stem has a fairly large diameter. The many leaves are like "lances" with small "teeth"; they are green with whitish highlights. Flowers may bloom at the top of the stem of the most mature plants. Indoors, Aloe Vera can be treated much like a cactus. It prefers that its soil gets soaked, and then dries fully after watering. In the winter, it tends to become dormant. It appreciates full sunlight, and may benefit from being outdoors in the summer. Where the climate permits, Aloe Vera can grow outdoors, in gardens with sandy but fertile soil. Again, it does best if planted where it can see as much sunlight as possible, and where it would be sheltered from cold. A serious gardener might use a commercially-prepared soil mix designed for cactus. This would be used for indoor pots, or as the closest soil for outdoor gardening. Aloe reproduces mainly by budding new shoots from the base of the main plant. A gardener may re-pot these shoots, or simply take cuttings and start them in moist soil.

Sipiso-piso Waterfall

To reach Sipiso-piso Waterfall from Medan, visitors can take a bus to Kabanjahe which is the capital city of karo regency. The journey lasts for about two hours. From Kabanjahe, take another bus to Tongging Village. This time, the journey lasts only about thirty minutes.

Amazing! That is what you are going to say when you arrive at Tongging village. This village is so green. From this village you can also enjoy the view of Tanah Karo and Lake Toba, the biggest volcanic lake in the world.

Then, you should go down through hundreds of man-made steps to get closer to Sipiso-piso waterfall. When you arrive at the down part, you can enjoy the beauty of the small green hill in front of you, and of course, the waterfall. The sound of the falling water is very loud because the waterfall is 120 meter high. The word Sipiso-piso in Karo language means knives. It is because the falling water looks like blades of knife.

The Eiffel Tower rises above Paris. It was built for the world Fair in 1889 by a French engeineer, Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel. At the time of its completion in 1889, the tower was the tallest structure in the world. It remained the tallest for 40 40 years, until the 1930 completion of the Chrysler Building in New York City, which was 7 m taller. Today, with its television antenna, the tower measures 324 m in height.

The lower section of the tower consists of four legs. The legs currve inward until they unite in a single tapered tower. There are three main platforms, each with an observation deck. The first deck is 57 m high, while the second is 116 m off the ground. Both are accessible by stairs or elevator. The third deck, which is 276 m high, is accessible to visitors only by elevator. Restaurants with panoramic views are located on the first and second decks.

The open framework design of the tower allows it to withstand strong winds. The entire tower is repainted every five years, a job that takes more than a year and requires about 60 metric tons of paint. The Eiffel Tower underwent a major restoration program from 1980 to 1985.

A long time ago, There lived an old man in Penanggungan Mountain. His name was Kiai Gede Penanggungan. He had supernatural power. Kiai Gede Penanggungan had a beautiful daughter named Dewi Walangangin who hadnt married yet. Kiai Gede Penanggungan prayed days and nights for her daughter to have a husband. One day, a young handsome man came to his place. The name of the man is Jaka pandelengan. He wanted to be Kiai Gede Penanggungans student. Kiai Gede agreed to have Jaka as his student with one condition that he would marry her daughter. Jaka Pandelengan and Dewi Walangagin soon got married. Kiai Gede Penanggungan taught Jaka many things.

After several years now it was time for the couple to live separately with Kiai Gede Pananggungan. They would move to another village. Kiai Gede gave some seeds of pari or paddy to the couple. He asked the couple to plant the seed. He also warned the couple not to be arrogant when they were rich because of planting the seed. He wanted to couple helped poor people. The couple started a new life. They planted the seed. Soon, the seeds grew a lot of rice. Now the couple became very rich. The poor neighbours came to the couple to ask for some pari seed. But the couple refused to help them.

Kiai Gede heard the couples bad behavior. Soon he visited the couple. He met them when the couple was working in the field. Kiai Gede talked to the couple. He reminded the couple not to be arrogant. But the couple ignored him. They said nothing to Kiai Gede. Kiai Gede got very angry. He then said, "You two are like temples. You cannot listen to me." Right after he said those words, an incredible thing happened. Slowly, Jaka and Dewi turned into temples. Because the temples stood among the pari, people then named them as Pari Temple.

It happened when I was in high school. One Monday morning, the Economics teacher gave us a test. As usual, all the books were to be put inside our bags, which were to be put inside the desk drawer.

In the middle of the test, I got stuck, I couldnt think of anything. When I looked to the left, I saw my friend copying answer from a book. So I whispered to him to ...(43) me the answer to one of the problems. He wrote down the answer on a small pieceof paper, crumbled it, and ...(44) it to me.

I tried my best to reach the paper, but no avail. Suddenly, CRASH! I fell off my chair! Everybody, including the teacher, was shocked to hear that noise. Then they ...(45) so loudly until they cried.

Then my teacher approached me and whispered to me,If you want to copy your friends answer, dont make such a noise. It was the most embarrasing experience Ive ever had.
