ABSTRAK
PENGARUH KNEE TO CHEST DAN PELVIC TILTING EXERCISE
TERHADAP FLEKSIBILITAS PUNGGUNG BAWAH PADA PEKERJA
ADMINISTRASI DALAM AKTIVITAS DUDUK LAMA
IFA GERHANAWATI
pelvic tilting. Tujuan : membuktikan pengaruh pemberian latihan knee to chest
dan pelvic tilting terhadap fleksibilitas otot punggung bawah pada pekerja
administrasi akibat aktivitas duduk lama. Fleksibilitas punggung bawah di ukur
dengan modified schober test (MST) dan Inclinometer. Metode : penelitian
eksperimental lapangan subyek wanita usia 25-35 tahun. menggunakan rancangan
pre test – post test grup design. Variabel penelitian ini menggunkan variabel
bebas dengan latihan knee to chest dan pelvic tilting, sedangkan variabel terikat
yaitu fleksibilitas lumbal. Hasil : uji bebas kelompok 1 Inclinometer (p=0,007)
MST (p=0,007), Kelompok 2 Inclinometer (p=0,017) MST (p=0,002), Kelompok
3 Inclinometer (p=0,000) MST (p=0,005), uji beda antar kelompok K1-K2
Inclinometer (p=0,516) MST (p=0,600), K1-K3 Inclinometer (p=0,011) MST
(p=0,056), K2-K3 Inclinometer (p=0,003) MST (P=0,014). Kesimpulan : Dari
ketiga kelompok tersebut hasil yang diperoleh bahwa untuk kelompok dengan
latihan kombinasi knee to chest dan pelvic tilting sangat berpengaruh
dibandingkan dengan melakukan salah satu saja latihan gerakan tersebut.
Kata kunci : Fleksibilitas, Inclinometer, modified schober test, latihan knee to

TESIS PENGARUH KNEE TO … IFA GERHANAWATI
ABSTRACT
THE EFFECTS OF KNEE-TO-CHEST AND PELVIC TILTING EXERCISE ON
LOWER BACK FLEXIBILITY OF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS WHO SIT
FOR A LONG PERIOD
IFA GERHANAWATI
Introduction: Officers who sit for a long time will feel pain on their lower
back. The pain occurs since the back muscles are excessively used when the body
maintains a static position for a long period. If this static position is accompanied
by a wrong posture, the muscles on the back will have to work harder to maintain
the upright position, resulting in stress or strain on the muscles, tendons as well as
ligaments. Back flexibility will make it easier for the body to perform a movement
comfortably, prevent the incoming muscular injury, and improve body posture.
One of the movements on William Flexion Exercise is knee-to-chest and pelvic
tilting. Purpose: in order to prove the effects of knee-to-chest and pelvic tilting on
lower back flexibility of administrative officers who sit for extended period of
time. Lower back flexibility is measured by modified Schober test (MST) and
inclinometer. Method: field experimental research with female subjects of 25-35
years old by pretest-posttest group design. The independent variables of this
research are knee-to-chest movement and pelvic tilting movement, while the
dependent variable is lumbar flexibility. Results: the test of independence results
of group 1 by inclinometer (p=0,007) MST (p=0,007), group 2 inclinometer
(p=0,017) MST (p=0,002), and group 3 Inclinometer (p=0,000) MST (p=0,005).
In the meantime, difference test results of group K1-K2 inclinometer (p=0,516)
MST (p=0,600), group K1-K3 inclinometer (p=0,011) MST (p=0,056), and group
K2-K3 inclinometer (p=0,003) MST (P=0,014). Conclusion: From those three
groups, it is concluded that the third group that combined knee-to-chest movement
with pelvic tilting has better result than the groups which apply single movement.
