This text is for number 7 to 12!Janjang Koto Gadang was made similar to The

Great Wall of China but in smaller version. It is located in Panorama, Bukit Tinggi. When I visited it, it took me 5 minutes walking from Japanese Hole forward to Koto Gadang. There are 1000 steps I must go through to get to Koto Gadang. When tired, I took a rest and enjoyed the scenery.

Along the way, I was presented with amazing views from Ngarai Sianok, Merapi Mount, Singgalang Mount and paddy field depicting their beauty. I watched splendor of Ngarai Sianok Wall with a height of about 100-200 meters. Indeed, West Sumatra is endowed with natural beauty.

The beautiful landscape is glorious with its fertile soil, lush greenery and cool temperature. It was a refreshing change from my seaside escapade. It is the kind of place where one thinks of retiring or becoming a farmer or both.Bukit Tinggi is 90 kilometers north of Padang, three hours away and connected by a smooth comfortable but snaky road. The busy market town is surrounded by rice paddies and three – so far – Mount Singgalang, Mount Merapi and the more distant Mount Sago.

The town sits comfortably 930 meters above sea level and can be covered on foot. In addition to its beautiful view that makes it as one of the best tourism destinations, Bukit Tinggi is also a commercial center in West Sumatra.

My Daily Activities

Hello, my name is Vincentius GillardinoI’m about eight years old, and I live with my

father and my mother while my elder sister, Maria Septa Rahayu P. lives in a Pangudi Luhur Sedayu’s boarding house because she studies at Saint Louis Senior High School. I have habitual actions that I always do everyday called Daily Activities. 

Everyday I get up at 5 a.m. I also never forget to do my bed and clean it up, then I go to take a bath, brush my teeth, and put on my uniform. After that, I have breakfast with my father, we usually eat fried rice or a glass of milk but sometimes nestcafe. 

I go to school at six thirty five on foot, our classes start at ten to seven in the morning. When It’s the break time, I always go to library for reading and studying there. Our lessons end at twelve thirty p.m. then we go home from school. I usually arrive at home at twelve forty cause my house is not far from the school, the name of school I study is Saint Joseph Elementary School near Saint Albert Junior High School. We still live in Pangudi Luhur foundation’s boarding house. I put off my uniform and change it with a casual wear after home. 

Hi, guys I always take a bath after school. How about you? Taking a rest for a while is a must for me before I continue to go to a course. I spare my time for a rest by taking a nap, then watching television, playing games, or maybe playing keyboard. I spare time to study is the next turn after it, it’s lesson course time, like English and Math at three till five in the afternoon. At five thirty, I usually have a singing and playing music courses, after I finish all I directly go home and take a bath for preparing dinner together with my family. I ave dinner with my family at 7 p.m.

I spare time for living together with my parents after dinner and sometimes I also spare it for reading novel, playing games, chating with my friends through mass media, browsing internet for few times. I never forget to prepare my books for the next day lessons and make sure whether any homework or not. 

The time is almost at nine, so it’s the time for me to get to the bedroom and sleep in order that I will not be sleepy for the next day classes. Before I sleep, I always wash my face, feet, hands and also brush my teeth to prepare my prayer for night before sleeping.

THE FOUR SEASONS

The United States and other western countries are quite different from Indonesia. They have four seasons; spring, summer, autumn, and winter, but they are only two seasons in Indonesia; the wet and dry seasons.

In the spring time there is a little rain, new green leaves grow and flowers begin to bloom. This season lasts three months. During the season the tree look green and beautiful because of the flowers. Spring is followed by summer. In this season everything is almost the same as the dry season in Indonesia. It is very hot but the air is humid. After the three months, autumn comes. In this season leaves turn yellow, orange and red before they fall down from the trees. That is why most Americans call this season “fall” instead of autumn. The trees are colorful during this season. Winter comes after autumn. In this season it gets very cold and there is a lot of snoweverywhere. When the winter ends, the ice begins to melt and spring comes.

Most people like spring and autumn better than the other two seasons. Some people, however, prefer winter although it is an unpleasant season as they can do winter sports such as ice skating or skiing. Some others enjoy summer. They go to beaches or lakes to have a swim.
