T HE PE R SON
1997 – 1999 was a tough year as the financial crisis badly stricken the economy. It was during this time the 20 years
old Norman had to forgo his studies to seek out employment in his home district of Kuantan. Without any success, he
migrated to Kuala Lumpur where he began to work as a sales assistant in an AVON Boutique.
The Long awaited opportunity came along in the year 2000 after numerous taps were made at Maxis front door. There
he stayed for 4 years as a Customer Care Consultant , a mobile data subject matter expert and a SIM coordinator as well as a
branch operation assistant on contractual basis.
At the end of the fourth year, he turned down the fifth year’s contract of employment with Maxis to accept an offer
made by EON Bank Berhad in the year 2004. Though he finally found a permanent position, his heart will always remain in the
telecommunication industry. Playing with phones, trouble shooting WAP via CSD and GPRS on a mobile device besides
successfully solve a problem faced by customers was an enjoyment.
An opportunity presents it self in the year 2006 when an offer came from a leading end-to-end mobile application
service provider – Nextnation. There a true intuitive talent from a passionate individual who loves the mobile industry emerges.
As his career peeks up not long after his employment was confirmed, another unfortunate event occurs when Norman was
knocked down by a car on his way to a client’s premises. That event had caused him dearly. A healthily fit for duty personnel
was turned frail after the accident and had to attend medical checkups and beyond every now and then disrupting his
responsibility to carry out his routine. With much regret he withdraws from any kind of full time employment until all matters
concerning the accident are settled entirely.
That time is now! As he himself phrases it …”One problem with gazing too frequently into the past is that we may
turn around to find the future has run out on us. If we are still talking about what we did yesterday, we actually haven't done
much today. Let’s not foresee the future, let us concerned with taking care of the present. God has given us no control over the
moment following... What we do today, will have an accumulated effect on all our tomorrows”.
