    LISTENING SCRIPT

    Listening Section

    In this section of the test, you will have the chance to

    show how well you understand spoken English. Thereare four parts to this section with special directions for

    each part.

    Part I 

    Questions 1 to 4

    Direction: In this part of the test, you will hear some

    dialogues or questions spoken in English. The dialogues

    or questions will be spoken twice. They will not be

    printed in your test book, so you must listen carefully

    to understand what the speakers say.

    After you hear a dialogue and the question about it,read the five possible answers and decide which one

    would be the best answer to the question you have

    heard. Now, listen to a sample question.

    have heard.

    A seed is a little plant. It is a plant that has not

    started to grow. There are many different types of

    seeds: tree seeds, flower seeds, and grass seeds

    They vary in size from the small to the large one

    All seeds have three parts: a food store, a baby

    plant or an embryo, and a seed coat. Seeds areproduced from flowers of plants. They are carried

    by the wind, by insect, by water, by birds, by

    animals and humans. Some seeds, such as beans

    grow very fast. But, others are slow growing, like

    the oak seed.

    11. Monologue 2 is for number 11

    The amoeba is a tiny, one-celled organism. You

    need a microscope to see most amoebas. The

    largest are only about 1 mm across. Amoebas live

    in fresh water like puddles and ponds, in salt water,

    in wet soil, and in animals including people. There

    are many different types of amoebas. The name

    amoeba comes from the Greek word amoibe,

    which means change. Amoeba is sometimesspelled ameba.

    monologues. They will be spoken twice. After you hear

    The following monologue is for number 12 and 13

    Fire razed four houses in Ambon City late on

    Friday, but no fatalities were reported. The fire began

    in one of the four houses and quickly spread to

    neighboring homes in the densely area of the Skip,

    Siramau Kota District, Ambon City. Two fire trucks

    were deployed to the scene and were able to

    extinguish the blaze after an hour. Local authorities

    said that the fire was sparked by a short circuit.

    bus, but of course I missed it. I wanted to take a taxi, but

    I didn’t have enough money.

    for an autopsy. Only autopsy results can explain the cause
