Subject Physics
Standard Competence 3. Comprehending work, force, and energy role in
daily life.
Basic Competence 1 3.3 Perform experiments about simple machine and
applied in daily life
Indicators 1. Explain the meaning of simple machine.
2. Explain the kind of simple machine
3. Identify the classes of lever
4. Perform experiments for determining the mechanical
advantages
5. Identify the type of pulley
6. Explain the work principle of inclined plane.
7. Determine the value of mechanical advantage on
lever, pulley, and inclined plane.
8. Clarify simple tool in daily life into a group or type
of simple machine
Allocation of time 3 x 40 Minutes (1x meeting)
B. Learning Objectives
After following the learning process, the students are be able to:
1. Explain the meaning of simple machine.
2. Explain the kind of simple machine
3. Identify the classes of lever
4. Perform experiments for determining the mechanical advantages
5. Identify the type of pulley
6. Explain the work principle of inclined plane.
7. Determine the value of mechanical advantage on lever, pulley, and inclined plane.
8. Clarify simple tool in daily life into a group or type of simple machine
C. Learning Materials
SIMPLE MACHINE
1. Define of simple machine is
There are four kind of simple machine
a. Lavers
b. Pulley
c. Wheel
d. Ramp
2. Lavers
Laver can be classes into three classes.
a. In a first class lever the fulcrum is in the middle and the load and effort is on
either side. Example
b. In a second class lever the fulcrum is at the end, with the load in the middle
c. In a second class lever the fulcrum is at the end, with the load in the middle
3. Pulley
A pulley consists of a wheel with a rope or cable placed around the wheel.
A pulley can change the direction of the force or decrease the amount of input
force, depending on if it is a fixed or movable pulley
4. Wheel
The wheel and axle is a simple machine made up of a wheel connected to a post.
The post is called the axle.
5. Inclined Plane
Inclined Plane is a sloping surface that makes it easier to move objects to a higher
or lower place
1. Learning Methodes
1. Model : Modified-free inquiry
2. Methode :
a. Explanation
b. Questioning
c. Discussion
d. Task
e. Experiment
2. Learning Activities
Experiment Class(Modified-free inquiry basis Simple
experiment and easy tool)
Control Class(Learning activities base on BSNP)
1 2
Pre Activities ( 15 minutes)a. Teacher prepares the students
physically and mentally to follow the learning process.
b. Teacher asks guiding question to the student to get the relationship be-tween last knowledge and the next learning material.
c. Teacher motivates the student by asking controversial question or statement that related to the learning material.
d. Teacher explains the learning objec-tives.
e. Teacher tells about scope of mate-rial.

Whilst Activity (90 minutes)1. Exploration
a. Teacher asks the student to observe picture/simulation in front of the class.
b. Teacher asks the student to give an-other example about the material that happen in our daily life and asks the student to think about their ex-ample.
c. Teacher explores student knowledge about physics symptoms by modi-fied-free inquiry; by guiding ques-tion which can make the student find the concept by themselves from their answer.
