DESCRIPTION OF CHILDRENS CHARACTERISTICS WITH ASTHMA

DISEASE IN THE REGION OF PUSKESMAS KAHURIPAN

Asthma is a one of the top five leading causes of death in the world. In children with

asthma disease usually found disruption in developmental and nutritional status. This

study aimed to get an overview the characteristics of children with asthma disease in

Puskesmas Kahuripan. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with

purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained from medical records, direct

observation, guidelines z - Score and denver format. Samples are 28 respondents fit the

inclusion criteria predetermined researchers. Research results obtained from 28

respondents 50% are men and 50% women, 60.7% aged 1-3 years, with 53.6% had a

history of asthma in the family's descendant, 82.1% of their development its not

compromised, and 60.7% are in normal nutritional status. Although not investigated

further, but it is probably caused by the other factors that come from families such as

parenting, economics, as well as physiological factors such as the immune system.

Researchers advice of health institutional able to provide health services such as health

promotion of meaning, treatment, and prevention of asthma in children who involve the

family to make decisions regarding the care of children with asthma. For further

research is expected to examine the other characteristics such as (education, economic

status, and environmental) associated with the incidence of asthma.

GAMBARAN KARAKTERISTIK ANAK DENGAN PENYAKIT ASTHMA

DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KAHURIPAN

Asthma masuk dalam kategori lima besar penyakit penyebab kematian di dunia. Pada

anak dengan penyakit asthma biasanya ditemukan gangguan pada perkembangan dan

status gizi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran karakteristik anak

dengan penyakit asthma di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kahuripan Kecamatan Tawang Kota

Tasikmalaya pada Tahun 2015. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif

kuantitatif dengan tehnik sampling purposive sampling. Data didapatkan dari rekam

medik Puskesmas, observasi langsung kepada responden, pedoman z – Score dan format

denver. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 28 responden sesuai kriteria inklusi yang telah

ditentukan peneliti. Hasil penelitian didapatkan dari 28 responden 50% diantaranya

adalah laki – laki dan 50% perempuan, sebanyak 60,7% berada pada tahap usia 1–3

tahun, dengan 53,6% responden memiliki riwayat keturunan asthma di keluarganya.

Perkembangan anak 82,1% responden tidak mengalami gangguan, dan 60,7% berada

dalam kategori status gizi normal. Walaupun tidak diteliti lebih lanjut,tapi hal tersebut

mungkin disebabkan oleh karena faktor lain yang berasal dari keluarga seperti pola asuh,

ekonomi, serta faktor fisiologis seperti sistem kekebalan tubuh. Saran peneliti petugas

kesehatan mampu memberikan pelayanan kesehatan seperti promosi kesehatan mengenai

pengertian, penanganan, dan pencegahan asthma pada anak dengan turut serta melibatkan

keluarga untuk mengambil keputusan mengenai perawatan anak dengan asthma. Untuk

penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat meneliti mengenai karakteristik lainnya seperti

(pendidikan, satatus ekonomi, dan lingkungan) terkait dengan kejadian asthma.
