Penyelesaian:Diketahui:F = 140 N; d = 5 mDitanyakan:a. W (gaya mendatar) ...?b. W (gaya membuat sudut 600 dengan bidang horisontal) ..?Jawab:a. W = F. d = 140 N. 5 m = 700 N.m = 700 joule.b. W = Fcos60 .d = 140 N. Cos 600 .5 m = 140 N.0,5. 5 m = 350 joule.

Contoh Soal 2:
Gaya sebesar 40 N bekerja pada sebuah benda dan menyebabkan benda berpindah tempat sejauh 80 cm, jika usaha yang dilakukannya 25,6 joule. Berapakah sudut yang dibentuk gaya terhadap bidang?
Penyelesaian:W = F cos α.d25,6 joule = 40 N. cosα.0,8 mCos α = 25,6 joule/32 N.m = 0.8α = cos-1 (0,8) = 36,86° = 37 °(pembulatan 2 angka penting)
