salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya batu saluran kemih, dilaporkan memiliki
(60%), pendidikan SMA/Sederajat (38%), pekerjaan Petani (36%), suku Batak
Obesitas menjadi salah satu
penyebab perubahan kadar pH urin menjadi asam dimana merupakan faktor risiko
terjadinya batu saluran kemih. Hasil ini diharapkan menjadi pertimbangan untuk
meningkatkan pelayanan kesehatan dalam pencegahan penyakit batu saluran
kemih.

ABSTRACT
Urolithiasis is the third of most common diseases in the field of urology.
An increase in incidence of urolithiasis is associated with increased risk due to
changes in lifestyle. Urinary pH which is one of the risk factors of urolithiasis,
reportedly has associated with body mass index in patients with urolithiasis. This
study aimed to determine the relationship of body mass index on the urinary pH in
patients with urolithiasis.
This research is an analytic study with cross sectional design conducted at
Adam Malik Hospital. The data were obtained from 50 outpatients with
urolithiasis in Poly Urology from August to September 2014 which were selected
with consecutive sampling method. The data were analyzed by Spearman
correlation test using SPSS 21.
The data of 50 samples showed the distribution of the sample proportion
highest in the age group of 53-59 years (28%), male gender (60%), high school
education / equivalent (38%), Farmers (36%), Batak tribe (70%), residing outside
the city of Medan (54%), body mass index obesity (42%), and the levels of
urinary pH 5.0 (52%). The correlation test results showed that the relationship
between body mass index against urinary pH was significant with correlation
coefficient -0.594 (p = 0.0001).
The results present a low urinary pH levels associated with high body
mass index. Obesity is becoming one of the causes of changes in urinary pH level
to be acidic which is a risk factor for urolithiasis. These results are expected to be
considered to improve health care in the prevention of urolithiasis.
