Abstract

Poverty is a fundamental problem faced by Indonesia. This paper examines

empirically whether zakat, infaq, and shadaqah (ZIS) have influenced poverty index

and mustahiq’s income, concerning to the Program Ikhtiar in Ciaruteun Ilir, Bogor.

Program Ikhtiar is a poverty alleviation program conducted by Lembaga Amil Zakat

Baytul Maal Bogor, Yayasan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Mustadh’afin, and Koperasi

Baytul Ikhtiar. The finding of this study showed that poverty index of mustahiq

measured by FGT Index is getting down after they joint at Program Ikhtiar.

Furthermore, based on estimation result using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method,

it can be concluded that income per capita of mustahiq is influenced significantly by

earnings of the job/business using fund from Program Ikhtiar, mustahiq’s work

liveliness, and amount of mustahiq’s families burden.
