Intro I am creating a teaser trailer for an

thriller/action movie, therefore I must take into consideration what audience is attracted to this genre and how to appeal to them.

Genre Conventions Action/Thrillers usually: Attract more males than females. Contain lots of fast pace action scenes

(car chases etc). Feature strong language and violence. Typically have a certificate of 15 or 18.

Research

I researched the film ‘Flight’ which we have based some of the conventions and aspects on and it also shares a similar genre. Its main audience is in the age group of 15-24 year olds, with the majority gender being male at 55%.

Our Target Audience Using my research of the audience of

Flight, we have to decided to target 15-30 year old males and give our film a certificate 15 because it will contain some violence, strong language and drug use.
