INFORMASI PASAR JENIS PRODUK FURNITURE, BENTUK, DESIGN, WARNA DAN
BAHAN YANG DIMINATI OLEH KONSUMEN AMERIKA SERIKAT
Dalam rangka mendorong upaya peningkatan ekspor furniture ke Amerika Serikat, Atase Perdagangan Washington, DC telah melakukan identifikasi dan pengamatan terhadap produk furniture dan produk peralatan rumah tangga lainnya yang merupakan pelengkap untuk produk furniture. Identifikasi dan pengamatan tersebut dilakukan di NORTH CAROLINA dan SOUTH CAROLINA yang merupakan kota pusat perdagangan dan promosi furniture terbesar di Amerika Serikat. Hasil dari kegiatan tersebut adalah teridentifikasinya beberapa jenis produk furniture yang digemari masyarakat Amerika Serikat, bentuk, design, warna dan bahan yang disenangi konsumen, serta harga. 1. BEBERAPA JENIS PRODUK FURNITURE YANG DIGEMARI MASYARAKAT AMERIKA

2. BENTUK, DESIGN, WARNA DAN BAHAN YANG DISENANGI KONSUMEN AMERIKA SERIKAT DALAM BEBERAPA 4 TAHUN BELAKANGAN INI ADALAH :
a) Berbentuk simple atau sederhana dan mempunyai fungsi antara lain, seperti
untuk melengkapi :
(i) Ruang kamar tidur, seperti Canopy Bed, Drawer Tall Table, Bedside Table, Drawer Dresser, Dresser Mirror, Armoire, Bookcase, Table Lamp, Frame Picture, Trash Box (tempat sampah) ;

(ii) Ruang tamu atau keluarga, seperti Chairs, Sofa, end Table, Wall Mirror, Floor Lamp, Wall Shelf (tempat pajangan di dinding), dan Display Shelves (tempat pajangan di dinding) ;
(iii) Ruang makan, seperti Dining Table, Chairs, Cabinet Top or Base with Sliding Glass Doors (meja cabinet yang dilengkapi dengan pintu-pintu dari kaca dan berbentuk berdiri atau memanjang ke samping), Cabinet Desk (meja cabinet), Buffet and Hutch (meja buffet tempat piring dan gelas) ;
(iv) Teras, balkon atau taman, seperti Chairs and Table Outdoor, Vas Bunga Besar, end Tables, Backless Bench (kursi yang berbentuk panjang tanpa sandaran);
(v) Ruang mandi, seperti Drawer Table, dan beberapa peralatan yang digunakan untuk Tempat Tissue, Handuk, Sabun, ataupun Buang Sampah;
(vi) Ruangan dapur, seperti Wine Butler, Trash Box. Lain-lain : furniture yang mempunyai multi fungsi, seperti Office Desk
(meja kerja) dan bila ditutup dapat merupakan antique trunk, bar cabinet (meja untuk menyimpan minuman dan bila ditutup merupakan meja biasa untuk meletakkan vas bunga atau frame foto) .
b) Design yang biasa terdapat di Amerika, hanya berbentuk :
- Kotak atau oval atau bulat dengan diberikan sentuhan kotak atau segitiga yang menonjol atau melengkung ;
- Tidak terlalu banyak ukirannya, dapat juga diberikan sedikit sentuhan ukiran gambar “bunga atau daun” di sudut-sudut atau di atas atau di bawah dari suatu produk furniture;
- Umumnya pemasangan engsel-engsel adalah di dalam dan tidak terlihat menonjol keluar.
c) Bahan yang umum adalah terbuat dari (i) kayu mahagoni karena cukup kuat,
warnanya cantik dan berbentuk contemporary style, (ii) Rattan Handcrafted karena memberikan kesan mewah dan kualitasnya long lasting.
d) Untuk produk furniture, warna yang sedang in di Amerika Serikat saat ini
adalah warna seperti : - Antique White (putih antik); - French White/ Blue/ Green/ Yellow (putih muda/ biru muda/ hijau muda/
kuning muda, seperti warna-warna yang hampir pudar dan sudah lama); - Warm Mahagony (coklat mahagoni yang hangat); - Maruun (merah marun); - Sedangkan warna-warna tradisional yang natural dan terkesan tropis,
seperti : brawn faux (coklat tua/pekat), hot chocolate, natural wood chocolate (coklat biasa), hansen cherry (kecoklatan), auburn maple (kuning kecoklatan), light oak (coklat keputihan), black forest (hitam), dan mocha cherry (hitam cherry), tetap merupakan warna-warna favorit konsumen Amerika Serikat yang abadi;
- Untuk produk furniture bagi anak perempuan, warna yang disukai adalah hijau/biru muda, kuning kehijauan, putih dan merah muda. Sedangkan

untuk furniture anak laki-laki, warna yang disukai adalah hitam, putih, biru tua, dan merah tua.
