Garudafood Profile

GarudaFood adalah perusahaan makanan dan minuman di bawah kelompok usaha Tudung (Tudung Group).didirikan di Pati, Jawa Tengah, pada 1958 dan bergerak di bisnis tepung tapioka. Pada 1979 PT Tudung berganti nama menjadi PT Tudung Putrajaya (TPJ). Pendiri perusahaan adalah mendiang Darmo Putro, mantan pejuang yang memilih menekuni dunia usaha setelah bangsa Indonesia merdeka.

Pada awal 1987 TPJ mulai menjual hasil produksi kacangnya dengan merk Kacang Garing Garuda, yang belakangan dikenal dengan sebutan ringkas: Kacang Garuda.

Pada tahun 2000 Rapat Umum Pemegang Saham (RUPS) sepakat menggabungkan TPJ, dan PT GarudaFood Jaya menjadi PT Garuda Putra Putri Jaya. Selanjutnya PT Garuda Putra Putri Jaya berubah nama menjadi PT GARUDAFOOD PUTRA PUTRI JAYA (GPPJ).

2004-2006Indonesian Best Brand Award (IBBA)Two brands of GarudaFood, Kacang Garuda for the Best Peanut Brand and Okky Jelly for the Best Jelly Brand have managed to earn this award for 3 consecutive years (2004-2006) and accordingly, they win a Golden Brand. Distribution Network

Produk-produk Garudafood didistribusikan oleh PT Sinar Niaga Sejahtera (SNS) yang berlokasi di Bekasi Barat dan merupakan Divisi Distribusi dari holding company. Didirikan 1994, peran SNS sangat menentukan bagi perkembangan Garudafood. Karena perannya, berbagai macam produk Garudafood bisa diperoleh konsumen di wilayah-wilayah pelosok seluruh Indonesia.

Hingga tahun 2006 ini, SNS telah memiliki 96 depo, yang melayani hampir 150.000 outlet pelanggan di seluruh Indonesia. Tidak hanya itu, untuk lebih memperluas jaringan, SNS juga bermitra dengan subdistributor besar yang tersebar dari Aceh sampai Papua.Dengan kekuatan jaringan serta armada distribusi yang sangat memadai, sejak 1994 SNS telah menjadi 5 besar perusahaan distributor FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) terbaik untuk kategori makanan dan minuman. Dalam perkembangannya SNS kini tidak hanya mendistribusikan produk dari Garudafood, tetapi juga dari principal lain baik untuk produk food maupun non food.

-Melamine content found in Chinese milk products (2008)-Indonesia’s biscuit production & export increased 10%-Biscuit market in the country is still dominated by foreign brands like Oreo, Tim Tam, Ritz, etc.-The foreign domination is stronger with the merger of world class producer and local producer like Arnott’s biscuit Co with Helios Food, and Nabisco International and PT Roda Mas.-Acquisition has also taken place among world class producers. Danone of France was acquired by US Kraft Foods.

Prospek Usaha :• Prospek usaha di bidang industri dan perdagangan

makanan & minuman diperkirakan sedang, walaupun tingkat persaingan usaha cukup ketat namun PT Garudafood telah mempunyai pelanggan dan telah menguasai market share yang cukup besar di Indonesia, selain itu produk yang didistribusikan cukup terkenal baik di dalam maupun di luar negeri.

• PT Garudafood juga selalu berusaha menambah jenis produk yang dihasilkan dengan berbagai inovasi, sehingga penjualan PT Garudafood pada tahun 2008 mampu mencapai rata-rata pertumbuhan industri makanan (+ 10,4 % s/d 22,8%) yaitu meningkat + 23% dari tahun 2007.

• Penjualan tahun 2009 diperkirakan meningkat terutama dengan adanya penjualan produk baru yaitu Mountea Starfruite Belimbing, Enerfill, Gery Wafelatos & susu Clevo.

• Pesaing utama produk biskuit & wafer adalah Tango (OT), Biskuat Coklat (Kraft), Oreo (Nabisco), Beng-Beng (Mayora), Richeese & Momogi, Tim Tam (Arnott’s).

• Pesaing utama produk kacang adalah Sukro (DK), Tic-Tac (DK), Pinus (Dwi Kelinci) & Iyes Kacang Garing (Manohara).

CompetitorPesaing di Bidang Minuman :• Pangsa pasar susu di Indonesia saat ini dikuasai oleh

Indomilk, Frisian Flag, Ultra Jaya & Danone. Menurut data Euromonitor 2008, pertumbuhan untuk kategori susu masih cukup besar (+ 10%). Persaingan dapat diatasi karena kebutuhan susu di Indonesia cukup besar dan tingkat konsumsi susu di Indonesia saat ini masih sedikit yaitu + 9 liter/ kapita/ tahun (www. Garudafood.com, Press Release tgl. 18-08-2009).

• Pangsa pasar minuman dalam kemasan di Indonesia masih luas dimana potensi pasar minuman berasa dalam kemasan dibanding dengan minuman mineral dalam kemasan adalah sebesar 30:70. Pesaing produk teh dalam kemasan yang selevel dengan PT Garudafood adalah Tekita Cup (Pepsi Cola), Teh Gelas (OT) & Break Tea (Kinoid Indonesia). Sedangkan pesaing untuk produk Jelly adalah Vita Jelly Drink (OT) & Ale-Ale.
