Kabel adalah conductor /penghantar yang telah diisolasi yaitu dilindungi dari gangguan mekanis dan pengkaratan, disekat agar kedap air mempergunakan material standard sehingga mempunyai kemampuan dilalui arus.

Conductor adalah kawat tunggal atau sekumpulan kawat yang mempunyai diameter dan karakteristik yang sama dipilin dalam suatu kesatuan sehingga membentuk/menjadi luas penampang tertentu yang ditetapkan dalam spesifikasi sehingga memenuhi standard dan memiliki kemampuan dilalui arus.
