ABSTRAK PENINGKATAN PEMBELAJARAN SIFAT-SIFAT CAHAYA MELALUI MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 1 Balandongan Kelas V Semester II Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015 Kecamatan Parakansalak Kabupaten Sukabumi) Oleh Dede Solehudin 1186210141 Rendahnya kemampuan siswa kelas V SDN 1 Balandongan dalam menguasai pembelajaran materi sifat-sifat cahaya, Hal ini disebabkan penerapan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat dan pendekatan pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru. Peneliti mencoba menerapkan model discovery learning yang lebih memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk mengonstruksi pengetahuan sendiri melalui pengalaman belajarnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan proses dan hasil pembelajaran materi sifat-sifat cahaya melalui model discovery learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) adaptasi model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart dengan dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Instrumen pengumpul data yang digunakan meliputi lembar observasi guru dan siswa, tes hasil belajar dan wawancara. Pengolahan data meliputi pengolahan data yang bersifat kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran materi sifat-sifat cahaya melalui model discovery learning berlangsung dengan baik dan efektif hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan perhatian, keseriusan, keaktifan dan kerjasama siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II dengan presentase kenaikan sebesar 25%. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa pun terbukti mengalami peningkatan ketuntasan belajar yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 69% kemudian meningkat pada siklus II mencapai 94% siswa yang mendapat nilai di atas kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pembelajaran sifat-sifat cahaya melalui model discovery learning pada siswa kelas 5 SDN 1 Balandongan Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015 Kecamatan Parakansalak Kabupaten Sukabumi. THE IMPROVEMENT OF LEARNING PROPERTIES OF THE LIGHT WITH DISCOVERY LEARNING MODEL (Class Room Action Research at Class V SDN 1 Balandongan Semester II academic year 2014/2015 Parakansalak, District of Sukabumi) By Dede Solehudin 1186210141 Low ability students at class V SDN 1 Balandongan in learning to master the material properties of the light, this is due to the application models of learning that are less precise and still teacher centered approach. Researchers try to apply the model of discovery learning more provides an opportunity for students to construct their own knowledge through learning experiences. The purpose of this research is to improve the processes and outcomes of learning material properties of the light through discovery learning models. The method used is a Class Action Research (CAR) adaptation Kemmis and Mc Taggart models with two cycles. each cycle consisting of: planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection instruments used includes teacher and student observation sheet, achievement test and interviews. Data processing includes data processing qualitative and quantitative. These results indicate that learning the material properties of the light through a model of discovery learning is going well and effectively it can be seen from the increase in attention, seriousness, activeness and cooperation of students from the first cycle to the second cycle with a percentage increase of 25%. Student learning results obtained was proved to increase mastery learning that the first cycle of 69% and then increased in the second cycle reaches 94% of students who scored above the minimum completeness criteria. Based on these results we can conclude that there is an increase in learning the properties of light through a model of discovery learning in class V SDN 1 balandongan, Academic Year 2014/2015 Parakansalak District of Sukabumi.
