Abstract B/ostratgraphic analysis of nannoplankton has been conducted on 26 spot sampling samples from the Rajamandala area, Padalarang, Bandung District, West Java Province. Based on field data, the study reveals that there are 6 rock units as follows: (1) conglomeratic sandstone unit of not younger than Late Eocene and it is comparable to Bayah Formation of Middle - Late Eocene, (2) claystone unit of Late Eocene - Oligocene which is comparabe to the Batuasih Formation of Late Oligocene, (3) marl unit of Late Oligocene-Middle Miocene which is comparable to the Marl Member of Rajamandala Formation of Late Oligocene - Early Miocene, (4) sandstone - claystone unit of Early Miocene Middle Miocene and is comparable to the Citarum Formation of Early Miocene, (5) volcanic breccia of Middle Miocene and is comparable to the Saguling Formation of Middle Miocene, and (6) tuffaceous volcanic rock overlying the Saguling Formation, and is comparable to Quaternary tuffaceous volcanic products. Key words: Biostratigraphy, nannoplankton, nannofossil, Rajamandala Pendahuluan Batugamping Rajamandala merupakan salah satu singkapan batugamping tertua di Jawa Barat. Keberadaannya sudah lama menarik perhatian para peneliti seperti Harting (1929); Zwierzycki dan Koolhoven (1936); Kupper (1941); Bemmelen (1949); Sudjatmiko (1972); Koesoemadinata dan Siregar (1984). Nama batugamping Rajamandala pertama kali dikenalkan oleh Martin (1911) untuk batugamping di daerah Bukit Rajamandala dimana Harting ( 1 9 2 9 ) rnenamakannya sebagai Batugamping Tagogapu sedangkan Baumann (1972) merupakan orang pertama yang menamakan satuan batugamping ini sebagai Formasi Rajamandala. Berbagai bidang penelitian geologi pernah dilakukan di d a e r a h i n i . Studi b i o s t r a t i g r a f i f o r a m i n i f e r a f o r a m kecil maupun besartelah dilakukan diantaranya oleh Adinegoro (1973) dan Adisaputra-Sudinta dan Coleman (1983), sedangkan penggunaan mikrofosil lain terutama nannoplankton masih jarang dilakukan di daerah ini.     Abstract

    B/ostratgraphic analysis of nannoplankton has been conducted on 26 spot sampling samples from the Rajamandala area, Padalarang, Bandung District, West Java Province.
